Harland & Wolff Shipyard makes its presence known on the Belfast skyline with two giant cranes, affectionately known as Samson and Goliath. The largest shipyard in the United Kingdom was founded in 1862 by Edward Harland a Yorkshire man, in partnership with Gustav Wilhelm Wolff a marine draughtsman from Hamburg. Together they have built some of the worlds greatest ships including, the giant oil tanker Myrina, the P&O cruse ship Canberra, and the most famous ship ever built The Titanic.
