DUNMORE HEAD

Mainland Ireland's most westerly point, looks across Blasket sound to the uninhabited Blasket Islands. The islanders moved to the mainland in 1953. Two ships from the Spanish Armada, the San Juan de Ragusa and the Santa Maria de la Rosa perished in the wide sea of the Blasket Island in 1588.
