BROWNESHILL DOLMEN
Two miles east of Carlow stands Browne’s Hill Dolmen, said to mark the tomb of a local chieftain. Dating back to 2000BC this dolmen boasts the biggest capstone in Ireland. Weighing a reputed 100 tonnes it is one of Europe’s heaviest.
